Green is the new black for 2010 brides. I know, each season some new color replaces our most intrepid of shades…but this year I’m not taking about color! “Green” refers to the new eco-friendly movement about putting back into the earth by using products made from organic materials. This is the second installment we are doing on the “green wedding” movement. Hopefully you enjoyed our first blog , Who new GREEN could be so Yummy?. This time I would like to take the opportunity to talk about your bridal fashion. There are a lot of designers making green gowns, and are relatively affordable (between $600-$2,000). Most designers are literally taking materials directly from the earth. Making their designs from natural materials like; hemp silk, recycled cotton, vintage lace, and bamboo which can be used for structure and to make various fabrics. So you have decided to throw a green wedding, or like the idea of it anyway. This is the one area in the wedding industry right now that is getting huge press. “Green” seems to the trend setter in 2010 for brides to follow. Choosing to follow this type of outline for your big day may seem appealing to some brides-to-be, but may make others a little gun-shy at the thought of committing to entirely eco-friendly wedding.
