Who needs Flowers and Candles Anyway?

by Lauren Boardman in Trends | No Comments »

I found this interesting concept in the August 2009 edition of Modern Bride magazine. With the ever-flailing economy we’re experiencing, most of this years brides are forced to be budget conscious. When the numbers start to add up, where do you draw the line? How about killing like three to four birds with one stone. Save on centerpieces, flowers, and extra cake costs by incorporating individual cakes at each table. Decorate them with your color theme and design, or incorporate a floral theme and decorate around them with fresh loose flowers or tea lights.

Using small amounts of accessories sparingly allows for extra embellishments in other areas. These cakes are advertised by Neiman Marcus but talk with a local baker as a cost saver. Now your guests can watch the cake cutting from a comfortable view, instead of crowding around a small area straining to catch a glimpse of this important bridal moment.
