If you are one of the tragic, like myself, who LOVE pink then you are in luck! If you plan to wed in 2010 then skies are the limit for us pink lovers! No longer must you suffer in silence. Take back your passion for color and use it. Make your wedding one big pink bonanza or use it as accents and incorporate it in small amounts into your wedding décor. Which ever way you go it will be stunning.
Pink persuasion
Now, I know as women we will get much resistance from our men about using pink in the wedding theme. I would have died to use it for my wedding, but the season and venue did not really allow for this color. Spring and summer are the best seasons, but depending on how late your wedding is in the fall months, you may still be okay. Pink is perfect for outdoor or daylight weddings. You can get away with the majority of shades and can use an all pink theme. Evenings are a little more tricky. What I love for an evening wedding is using black, white, and HOT pink! The black and white are elegant enough to counter balance the pink, and the pink itself really pops.

Don’t just stop with you tables and flowers. Use pink in all aspects of your wedding. Have your gals standing at the alter wearing pink dresses, even tie a pink sash around your waist or use a pink bow in your hair. I do not recommend a full pink dress though, unless there is some incorporation of white in it. It is your wedding after all, NOT prom. Men, do not fear. Put your hubby-to-be in a classic black tux with a white shirt and tie and let his groomsmen wear pink ties or pink boutonniere. It won’t kill the boys to hang out in a little pink for 30 minutes! Your bridal party will stand out form the pack if you put them in different shades. Have the girls wear pale pink and put the boys in a darker shade… you can tell them it looks red from a distance!
The many shades of pink
Since pink is a whimsical color, use it to your advantage. You can go with a more sophisticated vintage theme or a little more modern in your table and room décor. Use a combination of cupcakes with your wedding cake. You can still have your cake as the main focus, but decorate the cupcakes in a variety of pink shades. It will look beautiful to the eye in person and in your photos. Pick a signature cocktail or drink that is pink in color. For my wedding, my girls and I drank pink champagne! It was delicious and fun to walk around with. We made it available at the bar so our guests could join in! Pick out some neat pink invites and save the dates to introduce your theme to your guests, and you have a complete collection! Just have fun and be GIRLY, it’s your wedding, so it’s okay.
