Everyone is looking to stretch their wedding day budget to the max… but at what point do your guests actually suffer? The newest craze in budget shaving is the appetizer wedding. A small cocktail hour that is extended, replacing the sit down meal.

Is it appetizers, or appeteasers? Everyone is looking to trim the fat off their wedding budget, but at who’s expense? The latest money-saving trick is the appetizer, or cocktail reception. Brides and grooms all over are replacing their sit down meals with an extended “cocktail hour” following their nuptials. Not a bad idea, but only if you are planning a short reception, otherwise just go with the buffet!

oh, there is nothing I love more than appetizers! I think as long as there is a nice variety and plenty of hot finger foods, its a great way to get your guests mingling and up and about. There is so much you can do with appetizers-mashed potatoes in martini glasses, hot soup “shots” smoked salmon canapes, stuffed mushrooms, veggies, fruit skewers, etc.
I know right? Matt and I were at a wedding a while ago and they did a cocktail reception. I was really nice. My only dislike, the reception was from 4-11pm and they served the appetizers around 6 and they were gone by 6:30…we were all hungry by 9!
